Should I consider my body size when buying a keepsake urn?

I was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and want to plan for my funeral. I've always wanted to be cremated, and I'd like my ashes shared with all my children after I die. My friend suggested looking into keepsake urns. However, I'm not sure how much ash will remain because I have a small body frame. Is my body size important?

I'm so sorry to hear this horrible news. Your body size will play a role in the amount of ash remaining after cremation. The general guideline is that for every pound of body weight, you need one cubic inch. For example, if you weigh 130 pounds, you will need a 130lb urn with a little extra space for good measure.
