My family wants my grandmother's body to be embalmed before she is cremated. How much does this embalming process cost?

If you are having a direct cremation without a viewing or visitation beforehand, the embalming process is not necessary. However, embalming is required if you are having a viewing and the average price for the embalming process is around $500 to $700 and generally does not cost more than $1000.
